Update 3/30/20:

Today we are back to normal, or as normal as we can be during a pandemic crisis. Our systems are back online and, for the most part, we've discontinued the implementation of our disaster plan. The implementation of a disaster plan on top of a pandemic plan is not something that we wanted to test, but it worked as designed. We appreciate the patience and understanding that you provided us while we worked to resolve the external issues forced on us by the attempted ransomware attack.

Finastra Ransomware Attack

Finastra, our core processor for customer account data, recently experienced a ransomware attack. Your funds on deposit with us are safe and accessible to you. Finastra is the 3rd largest data processor for banks and processes data for nearly all of the 50 largest banks in the world. We now know that Finastra detected the security breach early on and customer accounts with The Peoples Community Bank were not affected.

Unfortunately, cyber-attacks are a way of life in today's digital world. We chose to contract with Finastra because of the security protocols they employ and their history of successfully protecting customer information.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this attempted security breach may have caused and will work in the next few days to reinforce our promise to you of Simply Good Banking.
